Drugi etap ABSA Cape Epic liczył 106 km i 2000 m przewyższenia. Limit dla uczestników został ustalony na 9 i pół godziny, ale zawodnicy elity na pokonanie tego dystansu potrzebowali mniej niż połowy tego czasu. Pierwsze cztery pary zameldowały się na mecie po niespełna 4 godzinach i 6 minutach rozgrywając podium na finiszu. Ponownie najszybsi byli zawodnicy Cannondale Factory Racing, ale nie było to takie pewne w trakcie etapu, kiedy to mocno na przód wyskoczył duet Kulhavy / Grotts, ale jak się okazało chwilę później – zatrzymał ich defekt w tylnym kole Czecha. Drugi tego dnia i zawodnikom zabrakło już mocy do tego by gonić. Na metę dotarli ze stratą 1:42, zajmując drugie miejsce w generalce ze stratą 2:23 do pary Fumic / Avancini.
W rywalizacji kobiet duet Langvad / Courtney nie pozostawia złudzeń rywalkom. Na drugim etapie, na 30 km do mety zawodniczki Investec Songo Specialized zaatakowały z pełną mocą, co przełożyło się na aż 4 minuty przewagi na mecie i ponad 6 i pół minuty w klasyfikacji generalnej.
