W dniach 18-24 października w RPA na zachodniej części przylądka odbywa się etapówka Cape Pioneer Trek. Tegoroczna edycja jest piątą z kolei i skierowana jest przede wszystkim do osób mieszkających w regionie. Na liście startowej próżno szukać wielki nazwisk, za to nie brakuje pasjonatów kolarstwa górskiego. W tym roku na trasie rywalizuje blisko dwieście par oraz ponad 150 osób jadących solo.
